Based in Pennsylvania and licensed in both PA and NJ, Dr. MJ Mulcahey brings over 30 years of clinical and academic expertise to her role as a Certified Life Care Planner. She is nationally recognized for her specialization in complex pediatric and adult cases involving spinal cord injury, brain injury, brachial plexus injuries, limb loss, and other catastrophic conditions. Her work is informed by a decades-long career as an occupational therapy clinician-scientist and internationally respected outcomes researcher.
Dr. Mulcahey served over 20 years at Shriners Children’s Philadelphia, where she led multicenter studies on pediatric spinal cord injury and helped establish globally adopted clinical evaluation guidelines. She currently holds a tenured faculty appointment at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, where she directs the Center for Outcomes and Measurement and leads the university’s graduate certificate in Life Care Planning—an ICHCC-approved training program she developed.
Certified by the International Commission on Health Care Certification (CLCP #1520), Dr. Mulcahey integrates rigorous methodology with practical insight to develop comprehensive life care plans across the lifespan. In addition to plan development, she is available for responsive rebuttal services and expert review.
Dr. Mulcahey joined Turning Point Life Care Planning in 2023. She provides services to clients nationwide and is particularly accessible to attorneys and firms throughout the Northeast, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York, while also maintaining active referral relationships in Ohio, Texas, and other states.
