Leading Experts Ready to Help
At Turning Point, sound methodology meets insight, experience and bullet-proof integrity. We excel at devising plans of care that cover complex lifetime needs, and that are defensible in court proceedings.
A Life Care Plan is developed based upon published standards of practice, a comprehensive assessment (in-home or virtual), data analysis, and research.
We provide rebuttal opinions when there is an opposing life care plan, functional capacity evaluation and/or vocational assessment to determine if standard methodology was followed and the opinions are reliable.
Specialized functional assessment conducted using state-of-the-art tools and training to determine if an individual can meet their essential job demands.
A vocational way forward through assessing an individual's vocational interests, aptitudes and value against their residual capacity, transferrable skills and the current labor market.
The rigor we apply at Turning Point to developing life care plans brings not only utility to legal and insurance professionals, but also hope for the injured individual. It’s a source of great personal satisfaction to know that my work becomes a road map for that person to navigate the complexities of their healthcare, now and into their future.
The collaborative culture at Turning Point pushes me toward excellence, whether I’m doing rehabilitation, case management, life care planning or functional capacity evaluation. We keep each other balanced, unbiased and informed of the latest best practices, which leads to better outcomes and a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
My 30+ years as an OT practitioner, researcher and educator has shown that positive client outcomes are achieved through collaboration, methodological rigor and adherence to standards of practice.Through teamwork, we create relevant, replicable and evidence-based life care plans that address impairments, mitigate limitations, and maximize function in the least restrictive way.
In my 30 years as an Occupational Therapist, I’ve seen how catastrophic injuries affect a person’s life—physically, socially, emotionally and cognitively. As a Certified Life Care Planner, I support people by identifying the most likely care they will need to optimize functional outcomes and future quality of life.
My path to life care planning began as a seasoned OTR, suddenly needing to advocate for my brother—after he suffered a stroke at age 55—from his acute and inpatient rehab to his return to home. This work led me to formal training in life care planning, so that I now bring both professional expertise and personal experience to patient advocacy.
As a certified medical cost projection specialist, I enjoy the challenge of coding complex procedures, and continually learning new resources and guidelines to ensure our Life Care Plans are comprehensive, replicable, and defensible. This accountability helps bring practical reality to our clients’ wishes to be restored as closely as possible to their pre-injury lives.
As an occupational therapist, my primary goal when working with clients is to improve function and promote quality of life. At Turning Point we take a collaborative and holistic approach to develop life care plans that are both comprehensive and meaningful for an individual’s current and future needs.
