I arrived at life care planning with many years of experience as a clinician in occupational therapy and a Certified Hand Therapist. I am passionate about uncovering pathways for the traumatically injured to return to as close to their activities of daily living as possible, as well as contributing to the clinical education of my peers through publication and pre-publication review.
Elisa Marks, MS, OTR/L, CEAS, CHT, is a seasoned occupational therapist with over 25 years of expertise in clinical settings, specializing in hand, wrist, and elbow rehabilitation. She has worked across a variety of healthcare environments, including supervisory roles at Cedars-Sinai and hands-on positions at the Center for Health Enhancement and Rehabilitation, Kaiser Permanente and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Her clients range from infancy to the elderly and are impacted by a variety of health issues including orthopedic, neurologic, rheumatologic, and pain disorders. Elisa also develops and delivers continuing education focused on hand therapy. She holds certifications as a Certified Hand Therapist and Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, and she is a member of both the American Society of Hand Therapists and the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals. Currently serving as pre-publication reviewer for The Journal of Hand Surgery, Elisa has previously published commentary in the journal in her commitment to staying abreast of evidence-based practice. Elisa is currently pursuing her life care planning certification.
